The MK Way: My Daily Hydrogen Ritual, and What I Do for a Sore or Achy Spot
People ask what I actually do every day, not just what we offer at the spa. Here's my honest morning stack, and the simple soak I reach for when something is sore.
MK Wellness InsightsFounded by Danielle Cordova, Cypress, TXI get asked this a lot, usually by clients standing in the middle of the spa looking at 26 modalities and wondering where to start at home. So here's an honest answer: what I actually do every morning, and what I actually do when something is sore.
My Morning Stack
First thing, before coffee, before food: one DrinkHRW Rejuvenation tablet, raspberry flavor, dissolved in water on an empty stomach. Taking it before eating anything supports better absorption of the hydrogen than taking it with food, which is the same reasoning we cover in more depth on the molecular hydrogen mechanism.
Right after that, I mix Cellergize Morning, LifeWave's stem cell support drink, lemon and ginger flavored. It's built to pair with X39 and the rest of the Cellular Performance System, and it's become the second half of my morning drinks.
Then I patch. My daily foundation is X39 and X49, and I rotate a third patch depending on the day and what my body needs:
- Y-Age Aeon for stress and a calm, balanced mood
- Y-Age Carnosine for focus and mental clarity
- Y-Age Glutathione for antioxidant and detox support
- SP6 Complete for appetite and cravings
Rotating keeps my body responding and lets me match my patches to my day. If you're new to patching, start with X39 on its own and add one at a time. Our LifeWave patch guide shows exactly where each one goes.
Two drinks and a few patches, about ten minutes, before I've done anything else that day. Then I head outside.
Morning Light: A Walk With the Dogs
Before the day gets going, I take the dogs for a walk outside, with no sunglasses and no sunscreen for that early-morning light. Morning sunlight is one of the most powerful free tools there is. Light entering the eyes early in the day helps set your circadian rhythm, which shapes sleep, energy, mood, and hormones for the rest of the day, and gentle sun on the skin is how the body makes vitamin D. Moving your body first thing, outside, is the perfect start. The key is never burning: early-morning sun is gentle, and I build up my time outdoors gradually. I go deeper into this in my take on sunlight, sunscreen, and sunglasses.
What I've Noticed
The claims behind Rejuvenation and Cellergize come from the manufacturers' research on their own formulas. What I can tell you is that I feel a real difference, and so do many of our clients. I'm sharing what I do every day and why I love it, so you can decide if it's worth trying for yourself.
For Soreness: Two Ways to Soak
This one gets asked about even more. How I soak depends on what's sore.
For one spot, like a sprained ankle or a sore wrist: the bowl soak. I fill a basin or bowl with warm water and drop in a DrinkHRW Relief tablet, then soak just the area that's bothering me for 10 to 15 minutes. It puts everything right where it's needed without running a whole bath.
For whole-body soreness, after a hard workout, a long week, or a game: the hot bath. When it's more than one spot, I run a full hot bath, as hot as is comfortable, drop in a Relief tablet, and soak for 15 to 20 minutes. This is my favorite reset for sore muscles, tension, and stress, and it's a great way to wind down before bed.
Why it works:
Heat. Heat opens up circulation, bringing fresh blood and nutrients to tired, tight tissue and helping muscles relax. We've written about why the old "ice everything" advice has shifted in our piece on current sports medicine guidance. For a fresh sprain, give it a day or two before adding heat.
What's dissolved in the water. Relief tablets contain 240mg of elemental magnesium per tablet, and magnesium soaks have a long history for muscle relief, the same idea behind an Epsom salt bath. They also release molecular hydrogen into the water, which research shows is absorbed through the skin during a soak, and hydrogen-water bathing has shown anti-inflammatory effects in published studies.
A few tips: drink water before and after, since hot baths make you sweat, and get out slowly. If you're pregnant, have a heart condition, or have low blood pressure, keep the water warm rather than hot. And if something is badly swollen, can't bear weight, or isn't improving, get it checked.
Why I'm Telling You This
MK Wellness carries DrinkHRW as an affiliate and LifeWave as a distributor, so I have a financial interest in both of these recommendations, and I'd rather say that plainly than have you wonder. I also genuinely use both, every day, and I did long before I ever sold either one.
