Stem Cell Therapy: Why We Refer to Dr. Tina Hills and PHMX

When our clients ask about stem cell and regenerative therapy, we refer them to Dr. Tina Hills, D.O., and her practice, PHMX, in Katy. Here's her approach in her own words, what PHMX offers, and how we'll connect you.

Stem cell therapy is one of the most exciting frontiers in regenerative health. When you need something we don't offer, we always want to connect you with people we trust, and for stem cell and regenerative care, that's Dr. Tina Hills, D.O., and her practice, PHMX, in Katy.

Dr. Hills is a board-certified physician who built PHMX around a belief we share: "The body knows how to heal when given the right conditions."

Dr. Hills' Approach, in Her Own Words

Dr. Hills spent years in emergency medicine before, as her team page puts it, "witnessing the limits of symptom management." So she built her practice around a different model. Here's how PHMX describes it on its own site:

  • Rebuilding systems. "When conventional medicine stops, we rebuild systems."
  • Systemic healing. "True healing is systemic, not symptomatic."
  • The right environment. "The most powerful intervention I can offer isn't a prescription — it's the right environment for your system to do what it was designed to do."
  • Root cause. "We don't suppress. Instead of managing symptoms, we identify and resolve the underlying mechanisms."
  • Whole-system care. "We address physical structure, cellular environment, nervous system, and energetic patterns together."
  • Integration. "Every modality reinforces every other, creating compound results."
  • Physician-led. "Every protocol is personally designed and overseen by Dr. Tina Hills, D.O., ABEM."

On regenerative medicine specifically, PHMX writes that it "isn't about chasing trends or offering injections without context. It's about leveraging your body's innate capacity to repair tissue, reduce inflammation, and restore function — when conventional medicine has plateaued." And every case, they note, is evaluated "with the same rigor she applied as a board-certified emergency physician — because real regenerative outcomes require clinical judgment, not just protocols."

It's easy to see why we feel good sending our clients her way: so much of this echoes the terrain-first, root-cause approach behind The MK Way.

What Stem Cells and Exosomes Are

Stem cells are the body's repair cells. They can develop into other cell types and release signals that calm inflammation and help tissue heal, and we have fewer of them as we age. PHMX uses mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs), which it describes as cells that "differentiate into multiple cell types, promoting tissue regeneration and modulating inflammation."

Exosomes are tiny particles cells release to communicate. PHMX describes them as "extracellular vesicles containing growth factors, cytokines, and genetic material that signal tissue repair and regeneration." They carry many of the healing signals of stem cells without containing cells themselves.

Why People Choose It

According to PHMX, their clients "come to PHMX when conventional medicine has reached its limits," including people with chronic conditions that haven't responded to conventional treatment, people who want to avoid surgery, and people seeking performance and longevity. PHMX lists conditions it addresses with stem cells as including joint degeneration, chronic pain, autoimmune dysfunction, and tissue repair, and with exosomes, neurological decline, cognitive health, inflammation, and anti-aging.

The broader research on MSCs is active and growing, with clinical trials in areas like knee osteoarthritis, autoimmune conditions including multiple sclerosis and Crohn's disease, and neurological and heart conditions.

What PHMX Offers

Here's an overview from PHMX's services, FAQ, and pricing pages:

  • Stem cells (MSCs): "ethically sourced, lab-verified" products, verified through The Center for Regenerative Medicine Laboratories (CRML), with a certificate of analysis provided for your treatment, given by IV by Dr. Hills after a comprehensive medical evaluation, with post-treatment follow-up
  • Exosome therapy, by IV
  • Peptide protocols, including BPC-157 and Thymosin Beta-4, designed for your physiology
  • NAD+ and nutrient IVs, osteopathic and fascia work, trauma and nervous system care, physician-reviewed blood panels, and coaching built on light, circadian rhythm, breath, movement, hydration, and nervous system tools
  • Timeline: PHMX notes that "initial improvements often appear within 2–4 weeks," with "full regenerative effects" over 3 to 6 months, and some patients needing more than one treatment
  • Cost: listed at $5,988 for a single MSC dose and from $1,800 for exosomes. PHMX lists its services as HSA and FSA eligible, with superbills and payment plans. Confirm current pricing directly with PHMX.
  • Location: Katy, serving patients from Houston, Cypress, Sugar Land, and The Woodlands

PHMX also offers downloadable info packs on stem cells, exosomes, peptides, and osteopathic care on its FAQs & Resources page.

Preparing the Terrain

This is where MK Wellness comes in: regeneration works best in a body that's ready for it. Many clients support their terrain before and after regenerative therapy by calming inflammation, stabilizing blood sugar, supporting the gut, sleeping well, and staying hydrated. Our Changing the Terrain checklist and gut repair guide cover many of those foundations.

At MK Wellness, therapies like red light, PEMF, and mild hyperbaric oxygen are popular for recovery support, and LifeWave X39 is a non-invasive patch designed to support the body's own stem cell activity. We're happy to help you build a plan around your regenerative care. See our full guide: Before and After Stem Cells: How to Prime Your Body and Support Your Recovery.

Questions to Ask Any Regenerative Clinic

Whether you work with PHMX or anyone else, these questions help you compare:

  1. What type of cells, and from what source?
  2. How many cells, and is viability tested?
  3. Is there third-party lab verification, and will I receive a certificate of analysis?
  4. Who administers treatment, and what's their experience?
  5. How will we track results?
  6. What does it cost, and what's included?

MK Wellness services are non-medical and not intended to diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition. MK Wellness and PHMX are two separate, independent businesses. MK Wellness does not provide stem cell therapy. Quotes and details about PHMX are from PHMX's own website as of September 2026. This article is general education, not medical advice. Discuss regenerative therapy with a qualified provider who knows your health history.
